Colwyn Bay is a seaside resort in Conwy County Borough. It is located on the north coast of Wales overlooking the Irish Sea. The town is composed of a population of over 30,000 inhabitants. I went in Colwyn during a day.
Map of Colwyn Bay
Bordering the beach there is a walk between Old Colwyn and Penrhyn Bay which gives access to the port of Rhos-on-Sea. Along this walk you can find small shops where it is possible to refresh yourself or eat the famous "fish and chips". If there is a great weather you can swim into the sea, even if during this period of the year it is very cold: about 10°C. It is possible to rent a boat to go fishing or sailing.
The Beach
It is possible, when it is sunny, to observe away in the sea wind turbines which enable to produce energy through the rotation of the blades caused by the wind.
Wind Turbines
It is possible to go to Colwyn from Wrexham by train or by car. If you are traveling by car, take the direction of Chester and then Llandudno.
