Llandudno is Wales's largest resort, located to the north coast of Wales. Llandudno lies on a flat isthmus of sand between the Welsh mainland and the Great Orme peninsula. There is 20, 090 inhabitants. I went in Llandudno the same day when I went to Colwyn.

City map

This city has an exceptional architecture. Indeed, it has managed to retain its Victorian and Edwardian style. The houses are all from different colors so that is very pretty.

Typical house

This city is becoming more and more tourist and that’s why it has been developed the Great Orme Tramway cable. On the 31 of July 1902 the first tramway went up to the top and since the Great Orme Cable Car is offering fantastic views.

The tramway cable

It is also possible to reach the top by walking or by driving. To be allowed to do this you have to pay £ 2 per car because you enter in a natural reserve. At the top of the mountain you can see a wild landscape with spectacular sea views. It is also very pleasant to walk on the beach and on the Llandudno Victorian Pier which is the longest pier in Wales. It was built in 1978. At the end of the pier there is a small tea room very pleasant where you can warm and drink a real English tea for £ 1.

This country is very nice if you like hiking and admiring the scenery, walking on the beach.

You can go to Llandudno from Wrexham by train or by car. In this case, take the same way that for Colwyn and continue until Llandudno. Good visit.
