Wrexham
Wrexham (Wrecsam in Welsh) is a town in Wales where there is 45,000 inhabitants.
It is the largest city in northern Wales, located to the east of the region. It is situated between the Welsh mountains and the lower Dee Valley, near the border with England. Chester and Liverpool are to the north of Wrexham.
Wrexham is represented by a Member of the Parliament of the United Kingdom. Traditionally, it is a member of the Labour Party. The National Day is March 1st, which is called St. David’s Day.
Students are the main part of Wrexham population. In fact, there are Glyndŵr University and Yales college.
In the eighteenth century Wrexham was known for its leather industry. After the Second World War, the former weapons factory Wrexham Industrial Estate was closed, leaving the ruins of many buildings. In the second half of the twentieth century, when new industries were created, tanneries, coal mines, brick, metal and breweries were all closed.
